The Shahadah My Heart, My Understanding, My Learning

The author is amazing. Throughout the story his genius to depict personalities, conflict, fate, human emotion, true love...etc is embedded into each line. Family values, community, Hard Knox, Romance,Money,it is all here. As the reader reads, the dynamics of the personalities interacting with one another,create relationship dynamics. Human emotion is extracted off of the pages and into one's heart and mind. The dynamics are easy to read, yet one should pay close attention to recognize how the dynamics circulate into fate, destiny, love, and pain. The Shahadah emphasizes the truth in one's heart. What are the heart's true intentions? The Shahadah, makes you examine your own heart. All of Said Salaam's characters were unique. I even tried to identify myself with which one I would be, or should I say, the one in which I most identified myself. This was truly a learning experience. It even shed light and appreciation for diversity, through the commonality of the heart and language.

True Love Prevails!

I just finished The Shahadah by Sa'id Salaam, and I've got one complaint . . . I WANT MORE! This book, even though titled a love story, is more than that; it's also educational, as it educates us about Muslim traditions, and ways. I was able to accomplish 2 things, to enjoy a good book, and also, to learn something new. I gave this book 5 stars, only because I couldn't give it 6! Sa'id even put a glossary at the back of the book, so if you didn't know what certain things were, you could find out. I absolutely loved it, and would love to see more! Thank you Sa'id, for answering some questions that I've always had, but didn't know who to ask!

Modern Day Romeo & Juliet

I have to say that Mr. Salaam got me again. I in love with this man's writing all over again.
The Shahadah is a very interestting and very informative story. Not your typical urban drama but a story with insight into how faith and conviction can make life better for you.
As I read the story, the characters grabbed and kept my attention, almost to the point where I felt part of the story. The wisdom & love & sound advie given are life-impacting.
Without giving away the whole story, you will just have to read it for yourself - I highly recommend it.
